What a frightening thing the human is, a mass of gauges and dials and registers, and we can read only a few and those perhaps not accurately.

Music

Been listening to a large variety of music this summer (but then my tastes were never that specific)... the range encompassess artists such as John Mayer, KT Tunstall, Gavin DeGraw, Cirque de Soleil sound tracks, Carrie Underwood, Jack's Mannequin, U2, Bell X1 and Snow Patrol.

Started thinking as to why ppl listen to music.... there are those that listen for the love of the music itself (e.g. the musicality of it, the artist's technique when playing/singing, etc.), those that listen because the songs mean something or convey a message they also believe in (e.g. those that actually pay attention to a song's lyrics and look for songs that mean something or say something meaningful, etc), and those that listen to music as some sort of mood enhancer (or something similarly stated).  I think I fit into all three (as most ppl do) but likely more strongly into the last group.  I don't know why I like the artists that I do but I know that I go through phases where I like certain types of music because they fit my current mood (e.g. Sarah McLachlan for more quiet mellow moods, etc.)....

Anyway, there's no real point to this posting - just thinking out loud....
